Assessment information

Assessments at YMCA Gymnastics

All students in our program are continually assessed during each lesson for improvement and readiness for upgrading to the next level. Children will learn skills over a period of time and build on previous skills, and completing the skills to progress can take some time depending on the level.

Skill tracking and assessments are available in the Customer Portal (see instructions to view). Once all skills are attained, you will receive an email prompting a class transfer to the next level which can be done in the Customer Portal.

Rotation
  • Forward roll down incline to stand.
  • Backward roll down incline (assisted).
  • Forward roll to tuck hang.
Spring
  • 5x straight jumps on board to motor bike landing.
  • From 60cm box, jump to reverse m/tramp.
  • Straight jump off to motor bike landing.
  • Short run, jump to bb, straight jump off.
  • 5x straight jumps to motor bike landing.
  • 5x tuck jumps.
  • 5x star jumps.

How to view your assessments

You can check the progress of your child’s skills through the Client Portal. Do this by.

3. Select ‘Skills’

4. Select the child you would like to view using the drop down
